Paul McGonagle: Head Coach (Third Season; 7-12)
Paul McGonagle is in his third season as the head coach of the Fitchburg State football team. He has compiled an overall record of 7-12 during his two seasons as the Falcons head coach, while posting a 7-7 mark in the New England Football Conference (NEFC).
In just his second season at the helm, McGonagle led the Falcons to a 4-6 record overall and was only one game shy of the conference championship, boasting a 4-3 mark in the highly competitive NEFC. In 2008, McGonagle and the Falcons made significant strides, handing Coast Guard Academy its first divisional loss since 2006 with a stunning 44-29 victory. With one of the top offenses in the NEFC, the Falcons named two players to the NEFC All-Conference team, while naming seven players to the Worcester Area All-Star team.
Prior to taking over as head coach of the Falcons, McGonagle spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Bentley College. During his tenure, McGonagle helped the Hawks to their first Northeast-10 Conference Championship and NCAA Division II playoff berth.
In addition, McGonagle also served as the offensive coordinator at Stony Brook University where the Seawolves captured their first Northeast Conference Championship. He has a vast array of coaching experience including stints at Northeastern University, Eastern Kentucky University, and Bucknell University.
McGonagle, a 1999 graduate of the University of Kentucky, was a member of the Wildcat football team serving as a tight-end and offensive lineman. He was a teammate of former top draft pick Tim Couch.
McGonagle earned his bachelor’s degree
in Sports Management and later earned his master’s degree in
Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He
currently resides in Reading, Mass with his three daughters, Sophia
(6), Isabella (5) and Ava (2).
Tucker is in his second season as the offensive coordinator of the Fitchburg State football team. In one season alone, Tucker has transformed the Falcons offense, making them the top offense in the New England Football Conference.
Prior to Fitchburg State, Tucker served as an assistant coach for Bentley College, working primarily with the running backs from 2001-2003. In 2004, Tucker took over as offensive coordinator, leading Bentley to a fifth place ranking in in the nation with an average of 41 points per game. He aided Bentley to a Northeast-10 Conference Championship in both 2003 and 2004, while leading the Falcons to a NCAA Division II playoff berth.
From 2005-2007, Tucker served as the running backs and receivers coach for Boston College High School. During his tenure, the Eagles won the Catholic Conference Championship in both 2005 and 2007.
Tucker, a 2001 graduate of Bentley College and three-year member
of the Falcons football team, resides with his wife Kristin Perry
and their two daughters, Athena (5) and Kalliope (3).
Kareem Jackson is in his first season as an assistant coach of the Fitchburg State football team. He will serve as the Defensive Co-Coordinator and the Defensive Backs coach.
Jackson comes to Fitchburg State after completing one season as an assistant coach at Becker College. With the Hawks, Jackson served as defensive backs coach, igniting a passing defense that ranked 11th in the nation. Prior to coaching at Becker, Jackson spent two seasons at Division II, Assumption College. Here, Jackson worked primarily with the running backs, leading the Greyhounds to the Northeast-10's second highest rushing attack.
Jackson, a graduate of Mid-America Nazarene
University, was a four-year defensive back for the Pioneers
while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He
currently resides in Leicester, Mass. with his wife Autumn and
one-year old daughter Savanna.
Philip Miller is in his first season as assistant coach of the Fitchburg State football team. He will serve as the special teams coordinator while working with the Falcon line-backers.
Miller brings over 26 years of coaching experience to the Fitchburg State staff, including 13 years as an assistant coach for the Bentley University football team. At Bentley, Miller spearheaded the Falcons running attack while serving as the special teams coordinator.
Prior to coaching at collegiate level, Miller also spent 13 years as a high school football coach. Miller kick-started his coaching career at North Andover High School, where he served as an assistant coach of the varsity football team for ten season. After his ten year career with the Scarlet Knights, Miller continued coaching at the high school level, serving as the head coach of the Sharon High School football team for three seasons.
Miller is a 1976 graduate from Bucknell University. He currently
resides in North Andover, Mass. with his wife Peggy, and his
three children, Philip (20), Michael (18) and Andrew (16).
Paul Boudreau is in his first season as assistant coach of the Fitchburg State football team. He will work primarily with the Falcon wide receivers.
Boudreau comes to Fitchburg State with a wealth of knowledge, including coaching stints both collegiately and professionally. For the past two seasons, Boudreau has served the wide receiver coach at Central Connecticut State University, aiding the #1 offense in the Northeast Conference (NEC) during both years.
Before coaching the Blue Devils, Boudreau also served as the tight-end and special teams coach at Brown University for eight seasons. Boudreau helped lead the Bears to a pair of Ivy League titles and the University's first outright title in school history. Throughout his tenure, the Bears were ranked among the top ten passing schools in the nation.
For the past three seasons, Boudreau was also invited to serve as a professional guest coach for the Saint Louis Rams and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL, working primarily with the special teams.
Boudreau graduated from Boston College in 1997 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Communications. He currently resides in North
Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Todd Warmington is in his second season as the running backs coach for the Fitchburg State football team.
Warmington joins the Fitchburg State coaching staff after serving two years as an assistant coach of the Saint Anselm Hawks. At the Division II level, Warmington helped develop a Hawks back-field that totaled 1,009 yards and 13 touchdowns throughout his two-year tenur.
Prior to Saint Anselm, Warmington coached for Allegehny College, where he served as the running backs coach for the NCAC Conference Championship team. During his time at Allegehny, Warmington helped lift the Gators to a NCAA Division III play-off berth.
Warmington, a 2003 graduate of Bucknell University and four-year
letterwinner for the Bison, currently teaches in Chelmsford,
Mass., and is pursuing his Master's Degree in Special Education at
Fitchburg State.
Chris Grautski is in his first season as assistant coach of the Fitchburg State football team. He will serve as the team's strength and condition coach while working with the defensive line.
Grautski comes to Fitchburg State after a successful playing career with the Worcester State Laners of the New England Football Conference. Grautski was a four-year starter for the Lancers defensive line and two-year captain. In a solid senior season, Grautski totaled 28 tackles (18 solo, 13 assists) and ranked second on the team with 4.5 sacks. For his efforts, he was named to the 2008 All-Worcester Area team.
Grautski graduated Worcester State College in 2008 with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Health. He is currently working
towards his Master's Degree in Educational Administration at
Fitchburg State.
Frank McDonald is in his third season as assistant offensive line coach for the Fitchburg State football team.
McDonald started his collegiate football career at Northeastern University, where he played full-back for the Huskies. He was a member of the 2002 Atlantic-10 Conference Championship team before transferring to UMass Amherst to complete his collegiate career.
A local native, McDonald was a four-year letterwinner at
Fitchburg High School where he was an All-State and All-Power Bar
Selection during his senior season. McDonald currently resides in
Lunenberg, Mass.
